The 11th Geosymposium of Young Researchers „Silesia 2018” is an international conference devoted to young scientists, PhD Students and young doctors interested in Earth Sciences. The conference is of an interdisciplinary character, thanks to which it provides an excellent platform for the presentation of research results in the field of geology, geophysics, geography and environmental protection

Istebna comunne is situated in the southern part of the Silesian province where Poland is bordered by the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The comunne consists of three villages: Istebna, Jworzynka and Koniaków located on the picturesque slopes of the Silesian Beskides. Three villages so called Trójwieś- are described as a lair of the mountaineers way of life. To get to Istebna by public transport, you should first reach the larger city next to: Ustroń or Wisła. Then take the bus towards Istebna. The bus stop where you should get off is Istebna Bucznik.
Possible variants to reach Istebna:
-Getting from Katowice Airport (Pyrzowice) to Ustroń or Wisła:
by bus to Katowice Railway Station and then to Ustroń or Wisła by train. If you choose a train, get off at the Wisła Uzdrowisko train station. Then take bus form Ustroń or Wisła to Istebna. The bus stop where you should get off is Istebna Bucznik.
-Getting from Kraków Airport (Balice) to Ustroń or Wisła: by bus from the airport to Krakow downtown then by bus from Krakow Bus Station to Katowice then take the train or bus to Ustroń or Wisła. If you choose a train, get off at the Wisła Uzdrowisko train station. Then take bus from Ustroń or Wisła to Istebna. The bus stop where you should get off is Istebna Bucznik.
You should plan your journey with PKP – http://rozklad-pkp.pl/en, or intercity bus- e-podroznik (this site also supports railways).
If you have any problems with public transport, despite these guidelines, please contact us at email@example.com. We will try to provide transport from the railway station to foreign participants.
For those who will come to Istebna earlier or who want to stay in Istebna after the conference, have to book an extra accommodation by their own way. Alternatively, we can book accommodation for an additional fee.
This year’s conference will be held at the Halniak Training and Recreation Center and Halniakowy Dwór(court). These facilities are located in the Istebna near (500m) from the main provincial road.
